DIOR: “DEEP ROSE” CREATIVE BRIEF

DIOR’S fragrance 'ROSE KABUKI' explores the rarefied world of Kabuki, a traditional Japanese theater that contains within it a deeply spiritual practice. Kabuki stories often revolve around powerful, even mythological characters in created and stylized worlds.

The voiceover script of “Deep Rose” is based on a poem of the same name by Jorge Luis Borges; here, it is used as an interpretation of ROSE KABUKI that attempts to ask the viewer profound questions about the very nature of existence. “Deep Rose” celebrates the things we all know exist but cannot see or touch.

Beauty surrounds us, if only we can open ourselves to it. “Deep Rose” for ROSE KABUKI exists as an encouragement and paean to the unseen exquisite, all of which begin with an awareness of self.
