SAINT LAURENT: “PLAY ON” CREATIVE BRIEF
VINYLE is a gender-free luxury fragrance included in the house of SAINT LAURENT’S collection Le Vestiaire des Parfums, a grouping of original scents inspired by the house’s iconic clothing fabrications. The name of the collection literally means “a cloakroom of fragrances”.
VINYLE is much more more than a fabric used in the construction of seductive clothing. It’s an archetypal material most often associated with the forbidden practices, garments and accessories of alternative sexuality, not to mention its use in the embodiment of one of the most seductive of all human endeavors — music.
“Play On” gives its audience permission to play, to experiment with gender roles, the freedom to indulge in alternative sexual exchange, and celebrates the sensuality and joy of listening to recorded song. VINYLE, a fragrance for him, for her, for them. Play on.
